Well, spring is here! It may still be a bit brown and gray, and we certainly have some snow that hasn't melted completely, but we also have piglets running around and lambs due any day. We picked up 10 goats in the middle of March and their antics have kept us busy - two escapes per week, so far!

We wanted to give everyone a big update for the beginning of the season and that includes pre-orders! There's information and links below, as well as plenty of details on our website. Feel free to call or email to touch base if you have any questions!

Whole Lambs

You can order a lamb to either roast whole or have broken down into individual cuts like lamb chops or leg of lamb. The price is $7.35 /lb hanging weight. You can choose to pick up your lamb the week of June 11th or September 3rd. We require a non-refundable $50 deposit to hold your lamb and will be in touch with you regarding what cuts you prefer and a time to pick up your meat, either at the farm in Dudley or at one of our markets.

Whole Goats

Just like lamb, you can order a whole goat to either roast whole or as individual cuts. The price is $7.35 /lb hanging weight. Whole and Half Pigs

Our pigs are available either whole, or if that's too much meat, as a half pig. Either way, you can choose individual cuts or as an entire side for a pig roast. They will be available the week of August 5th or the week of November 11th. The cost is $5.75 /lb hanging weight and we will help you choose individual cuts, as well as a time that works to pick up your meat.

Fresh Chickens

We have frozen chickens available every week at our farmers markets. They are whole and cost $5.95 /lb. You can expect them to be between 3 and 5.5 lbs each. If you would like fresh chickens, we will have them on the farm in Dudley, MA on Friday, June 14th and Friday, July 26th from 2pm-7pm. Please pre-order so that we know to save you one!

Thanksgiving Turkeys

Thanksgiving turkeys are back! We had a great time last November meeting everyone who valued a humanely raised, organically fed turkey for their holiday. We are focusing on heritage breeds this year and are raising mostly Bourbon Reds. You can expect these to be pretty small turkeys, so if you have a lot of people coming over, plan on ordering two. We also have a very, very limited number of Narragansett Turkeys, which will be slightly larger. Bourbon Reds are $8.65 /lb and Narragansetts are $6.50 /lb.

CSA

Our CSA was such a huge hit, we're doing it again! And bigger this time! That means more half and whole shares are available. You can expect a mix of beef, pork, lamb, goat, chicken and fresh eggs. We distribute once a month for five months and a full share receives 10 lbs per month, while a half share gets 5 lbs per month.

Our Markets

We are so excited to be back at the Carlisle and Grafton Markets this summer!

Carlisle opens on Saturday, June 22nd and is held from 8am to 12pm every Saturday through October. The market is at 343 Bedford Rd in Carlisle, also known as Kimball's Farm Ice Cream.

The Grafton Market begins June 27th and is held on the common in downtown Grafton, MA. This market is from 2pm-6:30pm every Thursday.

Looking Ahead to May

All the animals (and us!) are getting tired of hay, so we're looking forward to the grass growing and everyone heading out on pasture. If you'd like to come by the farm this spring with friends and family, just let us know! We love visitors and the lambs, goats, pigs, and chicks make a great afternoon activity.
