June 2013

June is here, which means we're gearing up for our first markets of the year!  We're excited to see everyone again, as well as meet new customers at our two new markets: Douglas and Jamaica Plain.

The llama/goat/sheep/lamb contingent has been busy grazing and we're helping them transition between these huge storms and heat waves by giving them lots of shade and shelter each day.  We've been lucky enough to purchase breeding does, so this time next year we'll have kids joining the lambs on pasture.  The pigs are happy as can be rooting up a field that was recently cleared and the laying hens are still scratching up the yard where the sheep spent the winter.  Nothing like some leftover hay to keep chickens endlessly happy!

Whole Animals and CSA

We have whole and half pigs available for pick up in early August or early November.  Also available are whole goats and lambs in early September.  All animals can be broken down into cuts for your freezer, or kept whole for a roast for a party.

Additionally, we have a winter CSA that runs from November through March.  Receive either 5 or 10 pounds of meat, plus eggs, every month.  To learn more, click here.

Looking Ahead to July

As we move into summer, we're looking forward to a weekly routine of markets, moving the herd, and enjoying the heat.  Our lambs are growing up great on pasture and the turkeys are getting bigger every day.

We'll have much of the same in stock for July, before our first pork comes back in early August.

We're looking forward to seeing you all at markets!
